The Stirling engine is a 200 year old invention. Modified for solar power, these two planned solar energy plants will provide the same annual electricity output as the Hoover dam (4B KW/year) which can power 1 million households.
2-3 times more efficient than photovoltaic cells which are very expensive and degrade over time.

ReplyDeleteThat depends on the scale of the power plant. Based on a power plant producing 1,000 MW, the cost per kWh would be less than ten cents.
How much power does solar Dish Stirling system produce?
One dish on an annual basis can produce 55,000-60,000 kWh of electricity. This is equivalent to the total energy required for 8-10 homes in the U.S.
