where do cars come from?

There are only 3 major US car companies : GeneralMotors, Ford, Chrysler (which was purchased [and sold] by MB)

What about Ferrari? Are they also owned by a big american motor company?

I thought you left off the Smart Car (you will love seeing them in abundance when you go to France), but now I find that they are also (at least part) owned by the DaimlerChrysler corporation.

we can definately throw those in the list, Ferrari is such a low production niche. The MB smart car was a joint venture with Swatch and looks pretty fun. They are really expensive in the US. Didn't the Inspector Cluseau drive one in Pink Panther?
